David Hicks at Cross Mackenzie Gallery

Mindy Solomon Gallery is pleased to announce that Gallery artist David Hicks will exhibit new ceramic sculpture at Cross Mackenzie Gallery in Washington, DC. The exhibition, ‘Nucleus,’ opened January 10th, and is on view until February 28th. The prolific and compelling California-based artist says of his new body of work:

“I am still digging in the dirt to understand my attraction to the agricultural.”

Though Hicks continues in botanic and organic themes, his compositions have opened, physically and metaphorically blossoming. His array of gourd-like shapes of various textures, hues, and dimensions are now suspended from a metal armature fixed to the wall, projecting outward like sconces, flower-like, and hovering in space.
